It seems that V Magazine is just as excited as the rest of us. Just a few hours later after revealing the second look, they unveiled the third. This time in Versace. To me it looks like the hair and makeup was inspired by Donatella herself, Lady Gaga's friend and fashion savior. I love the hardness of fashion with all those safety pins, very Versace.
Gaga poses wearing a custom, plastic Versace dress with peak/accented shoulder embellished with a variety of safety pins.
Photography by Inez & Vinoodh, styling by Brandon Maxwell, hair by Yadim and makeup by Shay Ashual.
Gaga wears Azzedine Alaïa ankle boots. All makeup used is MAC Cosmetics. On face, Pigment in Old Gold. On eyes, Extreme Dimension Lash. On lips, Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Can't Get Enough.
DONATELLA
In an ode to her dear friend and fashion savior, Lady Gaga introduces this particular character with a story about how Donatella once opened the door to her brother Gianni's preserved library for the singer to explore. The "Donatella-approved" looks seen here are as much an homage to the designer as they are a testament to Gaga's personal and creative loyalty. Meanwhile, Marina Abramović's interview continues with Gaga's views on what she hopes her fans will glean from ARTPOP:
"I want them to experience that self-love through creation and in the way that your art can give back to you. That’s ultimately what I care mostly about, our collaborations, and establishing a line...Intellectualism doesn’t also have to be elitist. You don’t have to have money or know people to be smart. I feel that in my heart." - vmagazine.com
